As evidenced during our win at the Red Bull Air Race in Budapest, the Goulian #99 race team is capable of winning. With the right components of our team working together, we can expect big things for 2010. With that goal in mind, we have expanded our team and made some changes that we think will push us near the front for 2010.

Veteran Technician, Dennis Sawyer, will join our team starting immediately. Dennis and Michael have known each other since the late 1980s, as Dennis actually worked on Michael’s air show aircraft from the late 80s up until the time he took his first air race Team Technician position with Team Mangold in 2006.

“I’m very excited to be working with Dennis again. He and I are good friends and have a great amount of respect for each other’s talents. In addition to his efforts as technician, Dennis will surely help me with my race strategy as he is a great pilot too!” remarked Michael.

Jennifer Staretorp will be joining the team as our Team Coordinator taking over these duties from Brad Huelsman. Jennifer is a recent graduate from Daniel Webster College in nearby New Hampshire and is trained in marketing and PR. ”Jennifer brings great credentials and a lot of great ideas which we have already started to implement”, said Goulian.

Team #99’s Technician from 2007 – 2009, Tim Hess, will be supporting the team from his shop near Boston. Tim is now working full-time on continual modifications for the #99 “Green Machine”. In the Red Bull Air Race World Championship, if you’re standing still, you’re going backwards, so Tim will make sure we are always moving forward in 2010.

Our Team Coordinator for the 2008 – 2009 season, Brad Huelsman, will be working as part of the air show team in 2010 and will also be joining us at selected air races as a coach.

We’re already looking forward to 2010 and we haven’t even received our race plane back home from its ocean crossing after Barcelona.
