Bremont is delighted to announce a partnership with the aerobatic air-show super-star Michael Goulian. Bremont Co-Founders, Nick and Giles English, have a passion for the sky that was passed down to them from their late father, Euan, and aero-nautical engineer and display pilot. On the other side of the Atlantic, the same passion was being passed down to Michael from his father.
Michael’s father Myron, began his aviation career by working at the local airport in Haverhill, Massachusetts at only 13 years of age. Myron soloed on his 16th birthday and received his Private Pilot Certificate on his 17th birthday. In the 1950s, Myron earned his living by flying his Stearman Bi-Plane as a crop duster and aerobatic pilot in Massachusetts and New York, and then in 1964, Myron started a flying school with his wife and Michael’s mother, Rita. Located just outside Boston, the school grew from a small flying school with just a few planes into one of the largest and most historic flying companies in the Northeast United States. Myron lived and breathed aviation until his passing in 2000.
With a passion for aerobatic flying and a responsibility to run the family business, Michael was always pushing the limits to be able to succeed at both. And succeed he did. Michael was fortunate to have won the US National Advanced Championship in 1990 and then in 1995, he went on to win the Unlimited National Championship and competed on three US World Aerobatic Teams.
In 2006, Michael was invited to join the elite group of Red Bull Air Race World Championship pilots. For 5 years, he competed globally in the World Championship Series, winning the prestigious Budapest race in 2009.
Michael currently enjoys a full time career in the air show industry flying 20 shows per year across North America. He is also one of only seven pilots to have been awarded all three of the air show industries most prestigious awards; the Art Scholl Memorial (2006), Showmanship Award, and the Bill Barber Award for Showmanship (2009), and the ICAS Sword of Excellence (2012).
The mechanical precision of the Bremont watch is directly aligned with precision of Michael’s aerobatic flying. His ‘brand’ is focused on his extremely precise maneuvers in the sky – which comes from his competitive flying heritage.
Goulian’s eye for mechanical detail did not end with his choice of aircraft – the watch on his wrist was equally important, and the continued growth of Bremont in US aviation circles over the past five years in particular did not go un-noticed.
Nick English, Bremont Co-Founder: “Bremont and Goulian Aerosports are harmonized in many ways, a joint passion for aviation, engineering, precision and brand values are to name just a few. Mike is such inspiration to so many pilots out there; he is the consummate professional in every respect so from our perspective the partnership is very relevant indeed. “
Mike Goulian, Goulian Aerosports: “When an aviation friend turned me on to the Bremont brand and the story of Nick & Giles English, I was so touched and inspired that I contacted them to see if there was any interest in working together. For me personally, and at Goulian Aerosports, we work in partnership only with companies we feel represent the passion we have towards our industry and Bremont certainly has that. What they have been able to achieve with their mechanical chronometers within aviation and military circles in the US over the past five years in particular is tremendous Their drive for perfection combined with their love of things that fly, make this a perfect match. It’s truly my honor to be able to represent this amazing brand, I am truly honored to be able to work with Bremont and Nick & Giles English.”
Information about Bremont
Bremont is an award-winning British company producing beautifully engineered chronometers at our Headquarters in Henley on Thames, England. Time began for Bremont when we embarked on a journey to make beautifully crafted pilot’s watches of exceptional quality. Flying historic aircraft has been in our blood from an early age, as has our love for watches and all things mechanical. The timepieces had to be tested beyond any normal call of duty (and not just in the workshop), and of course be immensely precise and durable. We make our watches to a very high specification for the price point and every watch in our standard range is Chronometer certified. We stand by our product and are one of the few companies offering a 3 year warranty on every watch we produce.
