Goulian Team #99 campaigns an Edge 540 in the Red Bull Air Race World Championship. This airplane is a thoroughbred racer; designed for speed and maneuverability from the outset. The most significant difference in this airplane is found in the wing. Longer in chord (distance from leading edge to the trailing edge) than a standard Edge 540 racer; which allows the airplane to “hold on” at a higher “G” without losing too much energy.
