The #99 Team was again struggling to find the pace in San Diego. After a massive effort to remove the wing cuffs and fabricate a lighter weight cowling, our plane was much more responsive in roll which was very nice on the tight San Diego track.

We feel that the only missing ingredient for our speed is now simply horsepower, which we should have cured for Windsor. Lycoming will be providing us with six new highly modified cylinders which should give us a big power gain.

At this point, Michael is pushing the plane very hard and cutting a lot of corners on the track to make up for our lack of speed, which proved costly in penalties for San Diego. With increased performance, we will have the ability to be quick and clean (no penalties) which is what is required for consistent high finishes.
