As you probably know, the Red Bull Air Race (RBAR) held its last race in Japan in early September. The RBAR has certainly been a large part of our career for the last twelve years and we’re sorry to see the race stop. There is a group from Hong Kong working to purchase the assets from Red Bull and continue the race series with an eye towards a more commercial business model. We are in touch with the proposed organizers and will watch with interest as things develop.

With the conclusion of the race, many of the roles for our employees on the team ceased to exist. Due to the lack of a full-time position for both Pablo and Emily, they have gone on to different jobs. Pablo is now flying for JetBlue and Emily has taken on a role with a small startup aviation company. They are both very dear to us and will continue to be a part of MGAS team in small ways if necessary.

At Goulian Aerosports (MGAS), we’re very excited at the opportunities ahead for us. We have hired three new and very talented people who will help us reach the next level.

VP Operations – Major General (Ret.) Brain Bishop

The first key hire we made was to offer a full-time position to Major General (Ret.) Brian Bishop. I think many of you had the opportunity to meet “bbop” this past summer at Oshkosh. We have been close friends with Brian since he was the leader of the USAF Thunderbirds from 1988 – 1989. Since then, Brian served in multiple positions in the AF to include commanding a wing in Korea and in Iraq.

Brian’s role with our team will be to run the day to day operations as a VP of Ops underneath Michael. With Brian running daily operations, Michael will be able to stay focused on flying and maintaining key relationships with our sponsors and the industry. We are extremely honored and humbled that Brian has chosen to be a part of our company. He is simply one of the greatest leaders we have ever met and will be an amazing ambassador for MGAS and our partners. You will love Brian and we can’t wait for you to get to know him better.

Marketing and Social Media Coordinator – Tyler Adams

We have also created a new Marketing and Social Media position which we filled just last week. Tyler Adams comes to MGAS with a great background in marketing and social media execution. We interviewed over twenty people to fill this position and we all feel that Tyler is the best fit for our team. Take a look at one of his past videos here

As a tryout, we invited Tyler to join us at one of our recent air shows in New York. He accepted our offer and challenge to document the weekend and we couldn’t have been more excited by the results. Tyler’s photos and videos documenting the excitement of the weekend were simply spectacular.

Starting October 1, Tyler will be at MGAS spearheading our goal to increase the frequency and emotional impact of our social media content. What we do and why we do it is very powerful to many of our fans and we will exemplify that notion through our content.

Team Coordinator – Theresa DeSisto

Theresa DeSisto will be joining us as our Team Coordinator. Theresa has been working with Mike Goulian Aviation (our Cirrus business) for the last six months, and her previous position was as a team member at Norwegian Air. We’re very impressed with Theresa’s can-do attitude and attention to detail in her job. With those great qualities, we knew she would fit in very well with our team at MGAS.

Theresa will be the “get it done” person around the office and with her high energy personality, she will be a great addition to the team.

For MGAS, we’re in a unique position to take advantage of our status as leaders in our industry and with the solid team we have, there is no stopping us!

Thank you so very much for believing in Goulian Aerosports and supporting us in our endeavors. Our focus remains on bringing a measurable ROI for you in everything we do. It’s our honor and privilege to represent your brand and we’re excited to work with you on developing new and exciting programs to help elevate your marketing impact within your industry.
