The Red Bull Air Race in Ascot, England, had its ups and downs. With inclement weather during the entire week – the race teams had no practice time on the track. The first practice was on Saturday morning, allowing for only two runs before the afternoon Qualifying lineup. Team #99 ran very fast times in practice on Saturday morning (3rd overall) but couldn’t achieve the same speed on race day, ending up in 9th, just shy of the top 8 round. The team is working on trying to achieve more consistent speed and duplicate this energy throughout all flights.

“Being in the spot where we were today, we know exactly where we went wrong and that probably cost us a little bit of time. The focus now is just to try to find another gear on race day. We know that we’re fast – we know that we can get there and just trying to find what’s comfortable and consistent and then what’s comfortable, consistent and fast.”

Looking ahead to the Spielberg, Austria race next weekend – the goals are clear
