As is the norm, Team #99 arrived early for the @redbullairrace stop in Las Vegas. The team had to complete an engine change in Fort Worth the Friday night prior to Qualifying day just three weeks ago – so early this week, team technician, Dax Wanless, and Team Coordinator, Pablo Branco spent time setting up the engine for maximum horsepower while trying to keep the engine temps under control. Pablo spent time test flying the Edge 540 tweaking the fuel flow settings to get everything just right for the “high & hot” conditions in Vegas.

Michael is ready for the last race of the season, “This weekend is our last chance to make it to the podium in 2015 so our approach will be to go for it. – We plan to fly a great line with an engine and airframe tweaked to to get the max speed we can get from our plane. We hope to have a great result to finish up the championship as this year – we’ve been to the Final 4 but have yet to have a taste of the podium champagne”

Saturday, October 17, 2015 – Qualifying race starts at 4:00 PM local (PST) time
Sunday, October 18, 2015 – Masters Round of 14 starts at 12:00 PM local (PST) time

As one of our great sponsors, Bose, likes to say “#BetterNeverQuits”. Goulian and his Team #99 certainly live that mindset every day. In fact, Monday morning after the race, with the engine still warm from the previous evenings race, we will fly the Edge 540 to Zivko Aeronautics in Guthrie, OK to immediately start the modification program for next season.

The team started the major modifications list for the 2016 season months ago. Next week will start the process. There is only a short time between Las Vegas and the first race in 2016 – and every second counts.
