Team Goulian is set to kick off the 2018 Red Bull Air Race World Championship in Abu Dhabi, UAE on February 2-3 after a brief off-season full of modifications: both on and off the race track.

Long time USA air show partner, Whelen Engineering extends partnership into the 2018 Red Bull Air Race World Championship as an official technical supplier. Whelen has been a supporter of Goulian’s air show team for seven years now, and Team 99 is thrilled for the opportunity to further represent the company.

Much of the success of our air show program is due to our great partnership with Whelen. To bring Whelen onboard Team #99 is such an honor for us as they are now an integral part of the entire Goulian Aerosports program. We’re passionate about air shows and air racing, and our team is honored to have Whelen share in both of our passions, said Goulian.

Racing is in Whelen’s blood. In addition to supporting Team #99 in the Red Bull Air Race, Whelen campaigns the #31 Cadillac Dpi-V.R in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. They have also been a partner and sponsor of NASCAR while promoting the brand by displaying products on pace cars, emergency vehicles, and tow vehicles around the world.

In the Red Bull Air Race, Whelen lights will be showcased on their security and emergency vehicles on-site at all the 2018 races around the world.

Whelen Engineering is a true trailblazer in the world of aviation: George W. Whelen invented the first rotating aircraft anti-collision beacon in his garage in 1952. This wildly successful development helped launch the company into the world of automotive safety lighting. As a direct result, Whelen has experienced positive growth for over six decades. Today, Whelen’s two manufacturing facilities total over 800,000 square feet and employ over 1,500 employees. Whelen is the industry leader in FAA approved aviation lighting products and Team Goulian is proud to showcase their name.

Abu Dhabi Race Schedule:
