After a long search, Goulian Aerosports has a new crew chief for its air show operation. Oshkosh, WI native Levi Fischer debuted with the team at EAA AirVenture in July. His exceptional intuition, and natural wit have already made him an indispensable member of the group which continues its 2017 air show season this coming weekend in Westfield, MA.

Fischer discovered aviation at the age of 11 when a neighbor gave his family tickets to EAA AirVenture. From that first taste, he was hooked. “I was always tinkering with things, taking them apart to see how they worked. So, I naturally gravitated towards the technical aspects of aviation. Growing up in the Oshkosh area, it is pretty hard not to fall in love with flying.” After receiving his FAA A&P certifications, he acted as the lead technician at a homebuilt aircraft manufacturer in Wisconsin.

Adding a new member to an already close-knit group is not an easy task. Extended time traveling from one event to another transforms any air show team into a small family. Personality matters as much as technical brilliance or know-how. With Fischer, the Goulian team is reinforced in both respects.
