With only days left to prepare for the first race of the season, team Goulian has completed all of its off-season goals and changes for the 2018 season.

What’s new this season?

The Edge race plane underwent a complete overhaul in December inside and out at technician Warren Cilliers’ shop in Florida. With only six weeks to complete a full inspection, new lighter-weight paint, and rewiring of many systems, the team worked miracles. Even with the multitude of technical enhancements inside the aircraft, when looking at it you may only notice a more streamlined paint design.

The team also welcomes Team Coordinator, Emily Mankins. Emily is approaching her four year work anniversary with the air show team and is excited to give her all in the racing circuit this year. Team members Pablo Branco, Warren Cilliers and Steve Hall will continue to be essential parts of the team.

Long time air show partner, Whelen Engineering, joins the race team this year. They have been an integral part of our team in the USA for over 7 years. They have a long heritage in automobile racing; we are excited to take their racing to the skies and to international locations. Official press announcement to come soon.

Abu Dhabi Race Teaser:

Abu Dhabi Schedule: February 2 – 3

2018 will see Abu Dhabi play host to the Red Bull Air Race for the 11th time! The race will take place over the Arabian Gulf’s stunning blue waters and fans will be able to witness all the action from the purpose-built race village on the Corniche breakwater.

Qualifying: Saturday, February 2 (4pm GST, 7am EST)

Race Day: Sunday, February 3 (2pm GST, 5am EST)
